The building’s span was 9 meters, saved 20% construction cost for the owner. Because of light self -weigh our solution helps to save 10% foundation’s cost, creates a unique floor system, reduce finishing work which save more money for the owner.
Although, concrete hollow slab was applied 50 years ago, this slab is not used widely nowadays because construction of this slab is complicated. In 2009, a new construction method of this structure has been invented by Dr Nguyen Xuan Hoang, chairman of ACH building consultant JSC. The innovative method reduces construction cost and time significantly and enable hollow slab to be the most cost effective solution for large and medium span structures. The invention was then patented by National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam.
Features:
According to the innovation, hollow slab is constructed by semi-precast method. After completion of construction, concrete floor works like cast in-situ structure.
The semi-precast method includes following steps:
- Produce prefabricated concrete components
- install prefabricated concrete components
- Pour concrete at site
Advantages:
With this invention, constructability of hollow slab is improved substantially. Hollow slab becomes cost effective solution for medium and large span structures. This structural slab saves about 20% structural costs. Additionally, the light weight floor (Hollow slab) also reduces beams’ depth and columns’ size. As beams’ depth decrease, floors’ height decrease and total height of the building decreases. On the other hand, reduction of columns’ size results in an increase of effective floor area
